Impaired driving and domestic violence again dominated Vermont’s police blotters this week, alongside several more serious cases in the courts. A Connecticut man was sentenced in federal court for a drug ring tied to the killing of a Derby woman, an Essex woman was charged with manslaughter after her dog fatally attacked her father, and a Sutton man surrendered on child sexual-assault charges. Here is a county-by-county look at verified cases from the past seven days; all defendants are presumed innocent unless convicted.
Addison County: Vergennes police cited one person for unlawful mischief, according to the department’s log for the week of June 1 through June 7, published June 11. The Addison Independent did not name the person cited. Read more
Bennington County: Luther A. Boateng, 21, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, was arrested late on June 13 in North Bennington on a drug-related DUI charge, his second such offense, state police say. Troopers reported stopping his vehicle on Mechanic Street after it drifted across the road with a defective headlight. Read more
Caledonia County: Jordan Kidder, 37, of Sutton, turned himself in to state police June 10 on a warrant charging aggravated sexual assault of a child and lewd and lascivious conduct. Police allege the abuse occurred in Sutton dating back to 2023. He was arraigned in Caledonia Criminal Court and ordered held without bail. Read more
Chittenden County: Janna Campbell, 43, of Essex, was charged with manslaughter and reckless endangerment after Essex police said her pit bull, which they describe as having a documented history of aggression, fatally attacked her 76-year-old father, Stephen Campbell, at the family’s Brigham Hill Road home in March. Police announced the charges June 12. Read more
Franklin County: Trevor Gagner, 31, of Highgate, was cited June 14 for violating an abuse-prevention order and conditions of release. Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks say he harassed a protected party online and was found at an address that violated his court-ordered curfew. Read more
Lamoille County: Ryan Longe-Judkins, 31, of Waterville, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a head-on collision on Vermont Route 108 South in Cambridge on June 9, state police say. Troopers said his car crossed left of center and struck a vehicle driven by a Stowe woman; neither driver was injured. Read more

Orange County: Nathan Bragg, 36, of Ryegate, was arrested June 14 in Newbury on suspicion of DUI and violating his conditions of release, according to the St. Johnsbury Barracks. Troopers responding to a report of erratic driving said they found Bragg showing indicators of impairment and in violation of a court-ordered curfew. Read more
Orleans County: Jakiy Keith, 26, of Hartford, Connecticut, was sentenced June 15 in U.S. District Court in Burlington to more than 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to a cocaine and fentanyl conspiracy and a firearms count. Prosecutors said Keith ran a drug operation feeding narcotics into Orleans County. He has also admitted to second-degree murder in the February 2024 shooting death of 29-year-old Kayla Wright of Derby and awaits sentencing in that case. Read more
Rutland County: Adalberto Blake, 48, of West Rutland, was taken into custody June 13 on a charge of first-degree domestic assault. While he was in custody, state police cited him on additional charges of accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes and identity theft, alleging he used another person’s information to move $1,000 through a Cash App account. Windham County: Bret Kistner, 43, of Brattleboro, was arrested after state police investigated a single-car crash on Vermont Route 100 in Whitingham. Troopers say Kistner was operating a vehicle he did not have permission to use and charged him with aggravated operation without the owner’s consent. He was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility. Read more
Windsor County: Darius T. Pinion, 35, of Royalton, was arrested early on June 16 and charged with domestic assault after troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded to a reported disturbance on North Main Street. He was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 bail. Read more

Derby Barracks – North Troy stolen-vehicle pursuit
Damian Emerson, 26, of Newfield, Maine, was arrested after troopers say he fled a traffic stop in Troy on June 13 and was later found on foot in North Troy. The Nissan Altima he was driving had been reported stolen days earlier in Maine. He was charged with criminal driving with a suspended license, aggravated operation without the owner’s consent and eluding. Read more
St. Johnsbury & Derby Barracks – Warrant arrests in Sutton
Wesley Kidder, 36, and Morgan Clark, 28, both of Sutton, were taken into custody June 14 on multiple active warrants out of Caledonia and Orleans counties, troopers say. The warrants included charges of domestic assault, second-degree aggravated domestic assault, unlawful mischief and violation of probation. Both were lodged at the Northeast Correctional Complex. Derby Barracks – Child-cruelty DUI crash in Barton
State police charged Kendra Crowe, 23, of Coventry, with DUI, negligent operation and two counts of cruelty to a child after a single-vehicle crash in Barton on June 11. Troopers say two children, ages 1 and 3, were passengers at the time. Crowe was released with a citation. Read more
