FYIVT News That
Affects You!

About FYIVT

FYIVT is an independent Vermont news site. We cover the stories that affect how Vermonters live and what they pay to live here — the Statehouse, town and city government, crime, schools, weather, and the budgets behind all of it.

Above all, FYIVT works to keep fellow Vermonters in the loop on the laws, rules, and regulations being discussed, voted on, and enacted in their name — too often without anyone knowing until after all is said and done. If it's going to cost you money or change how you live, you should hear about it while there's still time to say something.

Who writes this

FYIVT is written and edited by Dave Soulia — a lifelong Vermonter, veteran, and farmer. Guest contributors appear under their own names. FYIVT is a registered Vermont business.

How we work

Every article links its sources — budgets, audits, court records, meeting minutes, state data. We work from primary documents and we show them, so you can check our math and draw your own conclusions. When officials won't answer, we say so.

How we're funded

By readers. FYIVT is member-supported: no grants, no PACs, no political money, no advertising dressed up as news. Nobody pays us to say anything, and nobody can pay us to stop. If that's worth something to you, membership details are here.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it, we mark the fix in the article, and we own it. Spotted an error? Write the editor — that goes straight to a human, and it gets read.
