The Fourth of July weekend kept Vermont troopers busy, with a string of impaired-driving arrests, several domestic-assault cases, and a dramatic late-night shooting incident in the Northeast Kingdom. Prosecutors also moved on serious felonies, including two child-exploitation arraignments announced by the Attorney General's Office. Here is a county-by-county look at the week's verifiable cases; all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Addison County: State police arrested Daren Austin, 45, of Ferrisburgh, on a first-degree aggravated domestic assault charge after a reported family fight on Monkton Road on July 5. Police say he caused bodily injury to a household member in the presence of a child, and he was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility. Read more

Bennington County: Troopers cited Joshua L. Bushee, 45, of Sunderland, on an unlawful mischief charge tied to a vandalism complaint in Arlington. Police say Bushee damaged property belonging to a family member and was located June 30; he is due in Bennington Superior Court in September. Read more

Caledonia County: Robin Noyes, 39, of St. Johnsbury, was arrested on a criminal threatening charge after an incident in Burke on July 5. Police say she threatened to hit a 60-year-old man with a baseball bat. Read more

Chittenden County: Jesse Roy, 45, of Milton, was arraigned July 2 in Chittenden Criminal Division on felony counts including luring a child, child sexual abuse materials and aggravated assault, in an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force case. He pleaded not guilty and was held on $50,000 bail. Read more

Franklin County: Troopers cited Noreen Konkle, 60, of Burbank, California, for leaving the scene of an accident after a hit-and-run at the Tractor Supply on Highgate Road in Swanton on July 5. Troopers say they identified the vehicle after it fled the scene. Read more

Lamoille County: Seth Russin, 29, of Cambridge, was arrested on suspicion of DUI on July 4 after troopers clocked him at 84 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 100 in Eden. Police say he showed signs of impairment and refused testing, and he faces a DUI-refusal charge in Lamoille County Superior Court. Read more

Orange County: Troopers running speed enforcement on Interstate 89 in Williamstown say they clocked a vehicle at 100 mph on July 1. The driver, Luke Lamar, 34, of Auburn, Massachusetts, was cited for excessive speed and negligent operation. Read more

Orleans County: A Derby man was arrested late on July 4 after police say he crashed his truck into a tree, fired multiple handgun rounds, and struck a neighbor's vehicle. David Gendreau, 46, was charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, unlawful mischief and resisting arrest. Read more

Rutland County: Sean Haff, 38, of Belmont, was arraigned July 6 in Rutland Criminal Division on felony and misdemeanor counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials, in an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force case. He pleaded not guilty. Read more

Washington County: Coral Stukus, 41, of Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a single-vehicle crash that knocked down a telephone pole in Waitsfield on July 7. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was totaled. Read more

Windham County: Joshua J. Gay, 32, of Vernon, was arrested July 2 on charges of domestic assault and committing an offense in the presence of a child after a reported assault on Pond Road. He was held for lack of $500 bail. Read more

Windsor County: Baris Dincer, 42, of Cavendish, was cited on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct after troopers responded to an active assault on Depot Street on July 1. Police say Dincer assaulted two Cavendish men, ages 33 and 68, and he was cited into the Windsor Criminal Division. Read more

St. Johnsbury Barracks — Fatal Crash

A 66-year-old Bradford man was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on US Route 5 in Fairlee the night of July 2. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. Read more

Shaftsbury Barracks — Arrest on Warrant

A traffic stop on US Route 7 in Shaftsbury on July 2 led to the arrest of M Arthur McCollin Bey, 49, of Montpelier, who troopers say had two active warrants. He was ordered into the Windham Criminal Division. Read more

Westminster Barracks — Multiple Charges

Troopers responding to a July 2 dispute in Newfane cited Scotti Clark, 35, for reckless endangerment and possessing a firearm while prohibited, and Barry Matyas, 45, for violating release conditions. Read more

St. Johnsbury Barracks — Stolen Truck

State police are seeking information on the theft of a green 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, valued at about $20,000, taken from a field on Colby Road in Topsham on July 1. Read more

Update — Arrowhead Mountain Lake Recovery

Crews recovered the body of a missing man at Arrowhead Mountain Lake in Georgia on July 4, days after he entered the Lamoille River to try to rescue a young relative who had fallen in. Both names were withheld pending autopsies. Read more
