BRANDON, VT – Todd Nielsen, Brandon’s newly elected representative, is calling on the community to support the local food shelf at the United Methodist Church. Nielsen, an active member and volunteer at the church, emphasized the importance of this resource for local families, particularly as the holiday season approaches.
The food shelf, located at United Methodist Church, 12 Carver Street, Brandon, VT, is now accepting donations, including stockings for children.
“I attend and volunteer at the church every Sunday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.,” said Nielsen. “This is a great time for anyone in the community to stop by, not only to donate but also to discuss any concerns or ideas you may have. I’m here to listen.”
The food shelf is also open on Tuesdays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., though Nielsen noted he would be in Montpelier during that time fulfilling his legislative duties.
For those unable to visit during these hours, monetary and non-perishable food donations can be coordinated with the church staff.
“We’re fortunate to have such a caring community in Brandon,” Nielsen added. “Let’s come together to ensure that every family has what they need this season.”
